Särnmark's headquarters are in Sundbyberg, but we also have offices in other parts of Sweden.

About the job as a personal assistant

As a personal assistant, your most important task is to help the customer live the life they want. To step in and assist where the customer can no longer do so. You stay in the background and know when to step forward and when to step back. You do not take over but are the one who provides security. You assist and support the person both in daily life and during leisure time. Your workplace is where the customer is. You must have common sense and personal maturity.

We are looking for someone who is responsible, sensitive, and quick to learn new tasks. You are a secure, positive, and thoughtful person who enjoys motivating others. You take initiative, spread energy, and easily create a good atmosphere around you. You should be genuinely interested in working and making another person's daily life what they wish. But most importantly, you must have your heart in the right place. You must be able to master the Swedish language in both speech and writing.

At Särnmark, you always receive an introduction to the customer as well as access to training regarding the role of a personal assistant.

Job Responsibilities

Your tasks depend on the customer's needs and lifestyle. They range from personal hygiene, assistance with mobility, household chores, cooking, to assisting the customer at work or during activities outside the home.

For some customers, life-sustaining aids such as oxygen, PEG tubes, ventilators, and cough assist machines are used.

Working hours vary from 24-hour shifts with waiting periods, day and evening/night shifts with waiting periods, to active nights.

About the Employment

As a substitute, the form of employment is employment per hour worked, and the wage form is hourly pay. Working hours vary according to the customer's needs: day, evening, night (active and on-call), weekdays, and weekends. For some of the positions, a driver's license and access to a car are required. Salary and other terms of employment are according to the Collective Agreement for Personal Assistance, Vårdföretagarna - Kommunal.
